Program Accounts management improvements for Latam Airlines

Program Accounts management has been optimized to offer better support for corporate tariffs (TO Fare).

Program management is now more dynamic, and can be configured directly from the connectivity configuration, without having to go through the credentials. It is now possible to configure different program codes according to the nature of the flight (domestic or international).

This configuration can be defined by agency or globally, offering customized management of fares and associated programs. Being generic, this feature can be deployed for all NDC airlines.

Redesign of the “Allocate rates” page

As part of the project to redesign the administration platform’s user interface, aimed at improving the user experience and the readability of information, we have completely redesigned the “Allocate rates” page for packages.

Harmonization of rounding management for booking prices

We have implemented an evolution to harmonize the management of rounding of booking prices in the booking process and the back office.

Whereas in the past, the price of a booking could include more than two decimal places in the back office, particularly in the case of a booking in a foreign currency, this evolution eliminates potential price discrepancies in exports and invoices, both on the total price and on the price paid.

By default, rounding is set at the centime level, i.e. two decimal places after the decimal point.

Creation of derived rates for internal hotels

In internal hotel management, it is now possible to create rates derived from an existing rate for the same hotel.

This makes it possible to apply an increase or reduction to the prime rate, known as the master rate, either as a percentage or as a fixed amount on the price of the night. For example, it is possible to create a derived rate for a night whose price is equal to 80% of the price of the master rate for the same night.

Only nightly prices are derived from the master rate: commissions, arrival and departure conditions, minimum or maximum length of stay and closures are independent of the master rate.

Addition of a cache for yield management services

A technical optimization has been carried out to improve the performance of yield and commission services in the Yield management module.

Better Yield Management control on options

The Yield Management functionality has been improved so that it only applies to optional services when an option is specifically selected when the Yield rule is created (or modified).

Commission management for secondary sources of Activities and Services

In the fare management module, the minimum granularity for selecting the partner to which the defined commission applies has been increased by one level, enabling to reach the secondary source and thus apply different commissions depending on the secondary source.

Manual add-on lines

In a B2B booking process, it is now possible to add fare lines manually.

For each manual service added, the agent chooses :

  • A service label
  • A typology from the distributor’s categories
  • Opacity: An opaque service is one that will be added to the total price and will not be visible to the customer in the file details.
  • Volatility: A volatile service is one that is not sent to the distributor. It appears on the quotation page to be shown to the customer, but disappears when the travel agent actually books with the distributor, so it is not sent to the distributor.
  • A quantity
  • A price

Management of pricing rules for activities with age groups

The Yield Management module has been improved to allow commission and yield management from this module for activities using age groups.

Yield on one-way flights

In the fare management module, it is now possible to differentiate the conditions of application of a yield flight rule on the types of one-way or round-trip flights.

Minimum discount threshold

When creating a pricing rule on a package, the “Minimum Threshold” field must be entered. This field represents the minimum price of the main package amount from which the discount can be applied on the product.

A minimum threshold of 0 is nevertheless possible.

Yield on additional services

It is now possible to apply a yield on additional services in the Transport, Dynamic package and Prepackage processes (in direct or indirect booking).

This yield can be applied according to the type of additional services (luggage, meal, seat).

Post-booking price management rules

For a long time, tariff management rules did not need to be applied in post-booking (in the back office). These post-booking changes were governed by different processes.

Today, particularly within the framework of its direct connectivity functionalities with airlines and increasingly equipped with merchant functionalities requiring the possibility of applying rules defined in the tariff management module.

Traceability of tariff management algorithms

In order to improve support teams’ reactivity when analyzing the impacts of the different tariff management rules, a new log file (including: “logging of technical actions”) has been added to list most of the operations relating to tariff changes (yield, tolerance, etc.).

Yield performance improvements

For Hotel and Dynamic Package processes, the yield algorithm has been redesigned to improve performance and therefore allow greater reactivity from the interfaces.

These improvements to the algorithm performance support increased sales volumes for our partners, but also serve to improve booking process conversion rates, making the process smoother and improving the reactivity of the interfaces.

Improved performance of commissions mechanism

The system has been optimised allowing catalogue prices to be updated in real time based on responses from providers.

Managing the distributor yield in Gestour

Distributor yields are now included within bookings in Gestour as separate services to allow for better monitoring, and have been removed from the prices in the “price list”.

Tariff improvement

Added features to enable commissions included in hotel schedules and for hotel services by default.

New user rights
on commissions and agency commissions

New user rights have been created as part of managing commissions and agency commissions.

Here are the new rights linked to profiles :

  • Commission Management: users can view all commissions;
  • Commission Management Entries: users have write-access to all commissions;
  • Agency Commission Management: users can view all agency commissions;
  • Agency Commission Management Entries: users have write-access to all agency commissions.

Adding user
labels to the reservation channel lists

User labels are now also displayed in brackets on the reservation channel lists within the agency commission tab.

Changing a user’s label is better than changing an identifier’s label, as it has no impact on applying agency commissions to your products.

Adding a search engine to the agency commission tab

A search engine is now available on the agency commission tab.

Search engine on the Agency commission list tab

You can search using the following fields:

  • Booking channel,
  • Organisation,
  • User,
  • Primary and secondary source,
  • Commission rate.

Price management
for type of transport price

Pricing management rules can now be applied for the type of transport price.

Drop-down list to select price type to be applied

This upgrade lets you adjust the pricing rules for transport.

Application of yield rules on taxes

On the different sales processes, yield rules can be applied to taxes. The configuration is available in the properties section when creating the yield rule.

“Apply on taxes” checkbox

Yields on activities and transfers

The price management module now lets you manage activity and transfer services for external sources.

Only those services for which the selection mode is simple (service selected once or not selected) are managed.

Modification of activity and transfer yields

Improved ergonomic
design and new criteria

There is now a new “+” button at the top of the left-hand sidebar for rapid rule creation.

New shortcut for rule creation

Furthermore, the modification of hotel yields for external sources and flights is now done by “pop-ups”, making input quick and easy.

Some new criteria have been introduced to increase the possibilities for applying the rules.

New rules for “yield”: External hotels and Flights

You can now create “yield” rules for external hotels as well as flights.

List of yields on external hotels

1/ Yield on external hotels

External hotel yields are applied on the price of the stay and not on the price per night as in internal hotels.

These rules apply only to hotels and only to those that fit in the criteria defined in the “Stay properties” section.

Defining a yiels rule for external hotels

In this example, the rule will only apply to stays of 7 to 15 nights, where the check-in date is a weekday between September 1 and 15, and where the commission is between 10% and 18%. This rule will only be applied to the two hotels selected in the list.

2/ Yield on flights

In the same way as for product and hotel yield rules, you can define yield rules for flights. These rules apply a percentage or fixed yield on the price of a flight.

However, contrary to product and hotel rules, these rules are not directly attached to flights but to a route (departure city – arrival city). You can also decide if this yield applies to taxes or not (in the case where yield is a percentage).

Creating a flight yield rule

Commissions by source

You can create commission rules for hotels, flights, and extra services.

These rules are defined by a name, a value, and a set of criteria. All hotels, flights, or services that fit these criteria and whose source does not already provide a commission will use the commission defined in this rule.

List of defined commissions

1/ Hotel commissions

The criteria for rules on hotel commissions are as follows :

  • Source primaire (Obligatoire),
  • Primary source (required)
  • Secondary source (required, used for the hotel aggregator)
  • Country (optional)
  • City (optional)
  • Sales process (optional, available values are Package, Hotel and Dynamic package)

2/ Flight commissions

The criteria for rules on flight commissions are as follows :

  • Primary source (required)
  • Secondary source (required, used for domestic flights)
  • Sales process (optional, available values are Transport, Package and Dynamic package)

Additionally, you can decide if this commission also applies to taxes and flight options (such as luggage options).

3/ Service commissions

The criteria for rules on service commissions are as follows :

  • Primary source (required, only internal services are currently available)
  • Secondary source (required)
  • Sales process (optional, available values are Package, Hotel and Dynamic package)

New module name

The “Yield” module has been renamed “Price Management”, and you can now create commission rules as well as “yield” rules.

The “Price management” module has two main sections
